Ever kept yourself really busy but still couldn’t seem to make progress? Here’s a game-changer: the key to staying motivated isn’t working harder. It’s staying connected to your goal.
Busyness is not the same as progress.
We can fill every hour of the day with activity and still drift further from where we want to be. The missing ingredient usually isn’t effort — it’s about feeling connection to our goal.
When we lose our connection to our goal, even the most important tasks start to feel pointless. And we find ourselves drawn to things that feel easier or more immediately satisfying, because nothing else feels meaningful enough to pull us forward.
Why bother practicing scales, or filling out applications, or getting up at 4:00 am to do drills, if you don’t feel that what you’re doing is tied to something that matters to you?
But when we do feel that connection, then every small task feels like a step towards something we truly care about. The motivation follows naturally.
The key to staying motivated isn’t pushing harder. It’s asking yourself: do I still feel genuinely connected to where I’m going?
